Gratitude

As the economy has taken a nose dive, our cabinet shop has been hit hard. We are extremely lucky to still be in business. Since last summer, our crew has dwindled from 22 down to 7. Tough times. Tom and his partner both feel like we'll make it through this. I believe we will, too. Things are just very slow right now, and it's been a struggle to meet all the financial obligations of our business. Sometimes, this means that the owners skip a paycheck in order for the rest of our employees to get paid. This has made meeting our personal financial obligations hard to keep up with. But somehow, we have been able to do it.

Tom and I have been blessed with great friends and family. Over the years, we've developed some close bonds, and have become "foxhole buddies" with many of them. It is amazing how God sends people into your life when you need them the most. We have needed our friends and family a lot lately. We have never faced these challenges before. It has been very humbling. We've learned many lessons from these experiences. I guess that's why we need to have them.
