Micah's Blessing Day

We had Micah blessed today. Usually it's done on a Fast Sunday (the first Sunday of the month), but we decided to do it the weekend of Thanksgiving so Grandma and Granddad Blackham could be here. We had a yummy luncheon at the house following the blessing. It was a nice family day.

This is Tom's aunt, she's such a wonderful and sweet lady. We spent the afternoon visiting with her.

Nativity Pictures

I just had to do nativity pics again this year. I did them when Andrew was a baby, and I wanted to do the same with Micah. It's nice having a new baby in the house during the holidays, it makes it extra special.

The group shots are always hit and miss. Andrew did NOT want to wear the shepherd costume. I talked and talked to him, and convinced him to at least put it on and sit still, with the promise of a yummy treat afterwards. To his credit, he sat still and kept on the costume, but he cried the whole time. LOL Luckily I was able to get a couple of shots with him mid-sob, I'll use those for our Christmas card this year.

Little People Nativity

We hauled out our Christmas decorations today, Janessa and Andrew went right to their nativity set.

Dress Rehearsal

Tonight, Cassidy has dress rehearsal for her Christmas Show. They are supposed to have dark dramatic eyes, with sparkly white under the brow. Nails are to be polished black, and dark red lips. She'll get her dance costume tonight.

Gale Center Museum

We went to the Gale Center Museum today. It's such a fun place! They had a replica of an old school room, with some old desks and books. Here are the kids listening to the nice tour guide tell them about what school was like when she was a little girl (she's 87).

Next to the school house, there was a playhouse where the kids could pretend to be pioneers. They had a cow to milk, laundry to wash in a washtub, a play kitchen, eggs to collect from the chickens, and lots of other fun stuff. Here they are sitting in the kitchen at a kid-sized table.

Look at those CHINS! His eyes are still a grayish-blue, but I'm sure they'll turn dark brown, just like his brothers' and sisters'. He definitely has the Blackham lips!

Janessa wanted to have a picnic, but it's too cold to have one outside. So we improvised, the kitchen floor works well for a fall picnic. :) (Ugh, it's so blurry!)

The look on his face cracks me up. He was hungry and getting cranky, but I had to get a pic of him in this shirt. I can imagine him thinking, "First she puts this sissy shirt on me, then makes me lie still for pictures??" I'm sure he'd roll his eyes at me if he could.
