Couch Potatoes

LOL.... I just noticed that you can see Andrew's head in there too! He's sitting on the floor in front of Seth. My 3 couch potatoes. :) This was taken right after school when all the kids come home, drop their backpacks, take off their shoes, and flop on the couch for a little unwinding time.

"Mom, take a picture!"

Tinkerbell decided to be social and she snuggled up to Janessa on the couch. She wanted me to take a picture.

First Day of School

School starts today!!!
I'm just a little excited. ;)
My 2nd grader, my 4th grader, and my 5th grader.

*sigh* Trying to get a good group shot is next to impossible. Andrew wants to jump up after every picture to look at the camera screen, Janessa won't hold still, Jonah makes silly faces, Seth is usually pretty good, although he does love to pose funny, and Cassidy is "directing" everything and everyone. So this is one of about a dozen pics from this morning, but I picked this one because I love how Janessa is looking at Andrew. Awww....

Cassidy's Nap

She would kill me if I took a picture of her face while she was sleeping. I did that before on here, and she was NOT happy about it. So here are her feet. :)

Aunt Dorothy's Funeral

We had a sad today, it was Tom's Aunt Dorothy's funeral. The service was very nice, and lots of lovely things were shared about her. She was such a caring, sweet lady. She always made me feel welcome in their home, like part of the family. She was like this with everyone she knew.
The funeral service was held up here, then we travelled down to Price to the cemetary. Here are the kids at the cemetary. It was a rather nice day, a little overcast so it wasn't way hot. As soon as the graveside service was done, it started sprinkling on us. We walked around a bit and saw some more family graves, and chatted with everyone there.

Me and Andrew. Should have taken off my glasses.

We went to the dinosaur museum in Price. The kids dug for fossils and had a good time together. We had the whole museum to ourselves. It was nice because the kids had a lot of energy so it would have been next to impossible to keep them next to us any way. It was nice to let them walk around on their own, and it was a nice open area so we could easily keep our eye on them. After the museum we spent some time at Tom's Aunt Frances's house. This is the view from their driveway. Beautiful, huh? They have such a lovely yard, with lots of flowers and a nice sized garden. She said that she loves working out in her yard, but she has to take breaks every so often, so she has all these chairs strategically set out around the yard so she can sit down when she needs to.

Memory Lane

I found this on SarahAnne's blog, and she found it on Victoria's blog, and she found it.... oh I dunno where she got it, but I love the idea! It's kind of a fun thing to read and share our memories. Join in and play!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory you and I have together, whether you know me well or hardly at all. Just anything that comes to mind... that's nice and good and happy, please. ;o)

2. Next, repost these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me I'll assume you are playing and I will come post my memory about you on your blog. If you don't have a blog, I'll post my memory of you here on mine!

Tagged

Okay, I was tagged by SarahAnne so here it goes.....

Where were you 10 years ago? **10 years ago... 1998. We were getting ready to celebrate Cassidy's first birthday in September, and I'm pretty sure I was barely pregnant with Seth. We lived in Kearns in our first home, Tom was working for Mountain Tech Mill & Cabinet as the foreman. We loved our ward and things were going well for us. :)

Five things on today's to-do list? **Today's list is just about all checked off, but I'll post what it was any way. 1. Get some basic grocery shopping done (being out of town and playing for a full week doesn't leave much time to go grocery shopping!). 2. Take Cass to the ortho. Again. 3. Catch up on some laundry (another consequence of going out of town). 4. Clean up the house and get it ready for my ILs visit tomorrow. 5. Have Cub Scout den meeting and try to keep the boys' attention. Ha!

A snack I enjoy: **Lately it's been graham crackers with a thin spread of butter, accompanied by a big glass of COLD milk. Yum!

Things I would do if I were a millionaire: **Pay off our house and our business debt, first and foremost. Then we'd travel a bit and invest the rest.

Places I have lived: **I've only lived here in Utah, all within about 10 miles. (boy! I've led a sheltered life! LOL) So.... in my parents' house, in our first home in Kearns, and in this home in West Jordan.

Okay.... I will tag Jared & Jennie, Nate & Dana, Angie & Travis, and Mindy & Ben. Ready, set, go! :)

Fight!

Seth and Janessa were fighting over the swings. Instead of breaking them up, I grabbed the camera. Little stinkers!

Friday

We had a "first" on our way home from St. George. Jonah had to go REALLY bad so we stopped on the side of the road for him to "water a tree". I made Tom go out with him to make sure there were no snakes around. I had to snap a pic... our first side-of-the-road pit stop.

We had our annual Auger pool party in the evening. Of course, after getting home at 5:00, then unpacking a few of our things so I could get to our swimsuits and towels, then stopping at the store for chips (my contribution to the potluck), we arrived late and guess what.... I had forgotten to bring my own swimsuit. Duuuuhhhh....... I was so looking forward to getting in the pool, in my cute maternity suit, no less. So I ended up watching from the side and taking lots of pictures. Here are Seth, Jonah, and Ashlynn playing around.

Hot Hot Hot

It was over 100 each day we were in St. George. Luckily we had a nice pool at the condo and we took full advantage of it. They also had a little mini golf course inside the clubhouse, and a foosball table and air hockey, so we spent the afternoon playing around with the kids. Here are Cass and Jonah goofing off in the pool.
That night, we saw Les Miserables at the Tuacahn. Another excellent show.

Nice Glasses

We went down to St. George for a couple of days, and we saw the shows at the Tuacahn. It was nice to have some time to play with the kids, and do basically nothing. We hung out one day at the Fiesta Fun Center and let the kids get soaked on the bumper boats and then dry off while mini golfing. Janessa won these funny glasses with her tokens.

The first night we saw Sound of Music, we took Cassidy, Seth, and Jonah with us that night. They enjoyed it so much, even though Jonah feel asleep at the end... lol. The show ran from 8:30 to about 11:00, so he was sooo tired. The show was EXCELLENT, and I highly recommend all you Utahns to go down and visit our little "jewel in the desert"!

Cousins

This is Isaac with Andrew, they are 2nd cousins. Wait.... no.... let's see.... Isaac's mom is Tom's cousin's daughter. So, that would make these two little guys 2nd cousins once removed. Yeah, I think that's right! LOL

They were SOOOO dirty when they got home.

Beautiful Girls

Cali and Janessa
Hannah and Cassidy
The Tenneys (Tom's sister and her fam) are here for the week, and the kids are all having such a great time together. Our kids pretty much match up... we both have girl-boy-boy-girl. Cass and Hannah are 8 months apart, and Cali and Janessa are 4 months apart. Can you see the family resemblance?? Cass and Hannah are typical 10 year old girls and have been palling around all day. Janessa and Cali play pretty well together, as long as Cali gives into whatever Janessa wants. *eye roll* We're so glad to have them here for a visit.

Picture Day

All the parents of our baseball team decided to go ahead and do our own team pictures this year. So we took pics of the team, and as individuals, and I'm going to photoshop them into a cute layout. Then we can get them printed out for $2-$3 instead of the $10 the picture company charges. Aren't we sneaky? LOL
Here's Janessa, and yes, she really does have shorts on underneath her huge shirt. I usually tuck it in, or tie it in a knot in the back, but it fell out. No worries though.... I can crop. :)
